Twitter launches competition to find biases in its image-cropping algorithm

(Reuters) – Twitter Inc said on Friday it will start a competition for pc researchers and hackers to detect biases in its impression-cropping algorithm, right after a group of scientists previously found the algorithm tended to exclude Black individuals and gentlemen.

The levels of competition is part of a wider energy throughout the tech industry to be certain synthetic intelligence systems act ethically.

The social networking firm mentioned in a weblog put up that the bounty opposition was aimed at identifying “potential harms of this algorithm outside of what we determined ourselves.”
